Spend … Spend …
TAX!
Where does it end?
California Legislators love to TAX & SPEND. And when revenues fall short, they simply tax some more.
According to a recent LAO report, California’s general fund spending has increased over $100 BILLION in just the last six years — from $146 billion in 2019-20 to $248 billion under the Governor’s budget proposal for 2026-27.
However progressive legislative Democrats are apparently deterred and not happy with the economic reality. Voters continue to cite the economy and cost-of-living crisis as their top concerns. But that hasn’t stopped democratic legislators from pursuing even more taxes and more spending. AB 1790 (Connolly) is the prime affordability offender, seeking to add billions more to the state budget spending frenzy.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Voters are fed up tightening their belts as the affordability crisis worsens. Maybe it is time for legislators to tighten theirs as well. Remember …
It’s the affordability crisis, stupid!
